“The house of the dragon” renewed for a second season

HBO’s “House of the Dragon,” the prequel to “Game of Thrones,” was renewed for a second season on Friday, ahead of the release of its second episode.

“We are very proud of what the entire House of the Dragon team has achieved with the first season,” said Francesca Orsi, executive vice president of programming at HBO, in the announcement that “House of the Dragon has been renewed.

“Our phenomenal cast and crew faced an enormous challenge and exceeded all expectations, delivering a series that has already established itself as a must-see series. A huge thank you to George, Ryan and Miguel for guiding us on this journey. We couldn’t be more excited to continue bringing the House Targaryen epic saga to life with Season 2, ”she concluded.

The series follows the events of House Targaryen, the royal family of Westeros, some 200 years before the events of HBO’s smash hit “Game of Thrones”. The story of the prelude is based on the book “Fire & Blood” by George RR Martin, the author who created this universe.

“House of the Dragon” was co-created by Martin and Ryan Condal, who also acts as co-showrunner along with Miguel Sapochnik, who in turn is the director of the plot. The trio is also executive producer along with Sara Hess, Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis and Ron Schmidt.

The first episode of “House of the Dragon” is available on HBO Max. The first season will have 10 episodes, which will always arrive on Sundays on HBO and HBO Max.
