A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Monday, August 29, 2022 [SPOILERS]

The disappearance of the crow leaves Eric confused. She wonders if the person who took her might not be the same person who hurt Simon. An ex-policeman tries to forget his problems with his own investigation. He breaks into junk dealer Martin and finds a crow sitting in a drawer. Eric then takes pictures of the object.

He then finds Ariane at the Mistral Bar. She informs him that Mark, Simon’s ex, lied to them: he was not with his mother when Simon was attacked. The young man was seen in a bar thirty kilometers away on a farm. The owner of the establishment filed a complaint against him because Mark, who had been drinking more than was reasonable, hit him when he tried to kick him out.

Mark left at 6.30pm which gave him time to go to the farm. But Simon’s ex is now nowhere to be found. So Ariane decides to go through the young man’s mother. He manages to convince her to meet him. She is due to meet Marc at 10am on Wednesday at the Place du Mistral.

Eric walks over to Simon’s bed. It is lost, the tracks multiply. He is convinced that Mark is hiding something, but at the same time, it was with Martini that he found the missing spade. Eric is desperate. She wants Simon to wake up and begs him not to leave her. She breaks down and bursts into tears.

Father Luke wrote a letter to Mirta, where he told about his feelings. He also gives her a date at Marci’s. Luna’s mother hesitated for a long time before joining her, as she had written him a letter as well, but preferred to come in person.

Myrta confides in him that she has a guilty conscience, but Father Luke expresses his love for her fiercely. The young man is sure that the Lord gathered them together. He then offers to spend the day by his side. Father Luke should really visit some parishes and prepare meals for the homeless.

Mirta accepts with all honor, but they cannot flirt. Nelson finds them later in the Zephyr to inform them that he has found a furnished apartment in a hostel for young workers and that he will be able to leave the hotel.

Lola is pursued by Betty, who continues to provoke her by telling her about the abuse of Killian and Mathieu, her former stepfather. As Lola reveals the hatred she feels for him by trying to strangle her, Mathieu appears. He then encourages her to hold Betty’s neck tighter, but Lola controls herself and holds on. It is increasingly difficult for him to control the violence.

At the Zéphyr, Thomas hands Luna flyers for the restaurant’s new menu so she can hand them out to her customers. He explains to her that he and Gabriel found a new slot to see Lola. Sunal, who overhears the conversation, tries to explain to her and advises her to respect Lola’s freedom and privacy.

Through what she sees as her good deed, Sunali convinces Killian to leave her an open account at the Mistral Bar until Christmas. They also decide to join forces to protect Lola in any way they can, for as long as it takes.

Emma shows Barbara a photo she took of Justin the day before. She avoids showing the photo to Baptiste because she has always hated jealous women. Barbara has no doubt she has to tell him because Justin seems to be hiding something. She is sure that Baptiste could never forget Emma and that this photo can be an electric shock that will make him realize his feelings for the mother of his child.
