Launched last fall in the US on the Peacock streaming platform, the series, which centers on the youth of symbologist Robert Langdon (Ashley Zuckerman), serving as a prequel to The Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons and Inferno, has indeed been cancelled. in January and will not return for a second season.
Variety reported at the time that, according to a source close to Peacock, The Lost Symbol was ending after just one season, for the good and simple reason that the platform and production felt that this Dan Brown adaptation would tell the story of the novel. its integrity and that no sequel was necessary.

Developed by writers and producers Dan Dworkin and Jay Beatty (The Crossing, Outer Banks), The Lost Symbol sees Ashley Zuckerman (Fear Street, Legacy) play Tom Hanks in an updated version of Langdon. And Valorie Carr (The Next), Sumale Montano (10 Cloverfield Lane), Rick Gonzalez (Arrow), Eddie Izzard (Ocean’s 13) and Bo Knapp (Seven Seconds) star.
Over the course of the 10 episodes that make up the series’ first and only season, Robert Langdon, then a Harvard professor, must solve a series of deadly puzzles to find his missing mentor. A quest that may end in uncovering a sinister conspiracy involving the Freemasons.
