It’s hard to ignore that the Rings of Power series, conceived as a distant prequel to the Lord of the Rings saga, will make its grand debut on Amazon Prime Video on September 2nd! Set several millennia before the destruction of the One Ring by Frodo Baggins, the series will reveal the origin of the twenty rings of power, as well as the appearance of the sorcerer Sauron.
The Diffusion event obliges, which are two episodes that will be offered to Amazon subscribers in conjunction with the series’ launch date. The first season of the show, the most expensive in the history of American television, will consist of a total of eight episodes, which will be released weekly on the platform every Friday.
We remind you that the shooting of the second season has already started, and the program was imagined by its creators as a story that covers five seasons, not more than one. But who knows, spin-offs and other derivative projects may see the light of day if successful? The richness of the world created by JRR Tolkien is perfect in any case.
