Netflix has released the first image of “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story”, a new series from producer Ryan Murphy (“American Horror Story”). The picture shows actor Evan Peters (also from “American Horror Story”) as killer Jeffrey Dahmer.
Based on a true story, the series will tell the life of Dahmer, one of the most famous serial killers in the United States, who killed and dismembered 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. The cruelty and sadism of his murders added to the fact that necrophilia and cannibalism shocked the public and earned him the nickname of the Cannibal of Milwaukee. Most impressive is that he has escaped several times from being caught red-handed due to his white privilege. Good-looking, he always got an apology when police officers were called by his black neighbor, who suspected the crimes.
The serial killer miniseries was co-created by Murphy and his old partner Ian Brennan. Among the various attractions designed together by the duo are “Glee”, “Screem Queens”, “Hollywood” and “The Politician”, the latter two on Netflix.
In addition to Evan Peters, the cast of “Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” includes Niecy Nash (“Claws”), Penelope Ann Miller (“American Crime”), Shaun J. Brown (“Future Man”), Colin Ford (” Daybreak “) and veteran Richard Jenkins (” The Shape of Water “).
The episodes will be directed by Paris Barclay (“Sons of Anarchy”), Carl Franklin (“Mindhunter”) and Janet Mock (“Pose”).
“Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story” doesn’t have a release date yet.
Jeffrey Dahmer’s story has been told many times, in many cases in little-seen productions, such as “Dahmer – The Milwaukee Cannibal” (1993), “Raising Jeffrey Dahmer” (2006), “The Jeffrey Dahmer Files” (2012) ). ) and the miniseries “Jeffrey Dahmer: Killer Cannibal” (2019).
The most famous versions of the cannibal killer story are the films “Dahmer – Killer Mind” (2002), in which the serial killer is played by the actor Jeremy Renner (Marvel’s Hawkeye) and “Awakens of a Killer” (2017), adaptation of the excellent comic “My Friend Dahmer”, written by Derf Backderf.
