In Gossip Girl, a mystery remained intact until the end of the series: the identity of the mysterious blogger. It was on December 17, 2012 that we found out during the broadcast of the last episode of the secret show called “New York, je t’aime” (or “New York, I Love You XOXO” VO) and we fell from the clouds! If all this seems far-fetched, don’t worry: we’ll tell you all the way!
The episode begins with Bart hanging over the edge of a building where a party is being held in his honor. Indeed, after he tried to hit Chuck (Ed Westwick), he jumped over the railing and is now asking Chuck for help. After being abused for so many years by his father—who even tried to kill him by blowing up the plane he was supposed to be in—Chuck decides not to move on…and Bart finally falls. Blair (Leighton Meester), witnessing the scene, suggests it’s time to leave.
As a crowd forms around Bart’s lifeless body at the bottom of the building, Blair and Chuck try to escape the scene, but they’ll need Georgina’s help to do so.
Meanwhile, Danny (Pen Badgley) sits alone in his new apartment. He texts his editor that he will be ready to reveal the final chapter of the book after talking to someone. At the same time, Serena (Blake Lively), who landed in Los Angeles, finds the last chapter that Dan put in her bag and immediately starts reading it.

At Empire, Nate (Chase Crawford) and Sage continue their research on Gossip Girl. Soon they hear the news of Bart’s death, as does a shocked Lily. Ivy calls William from her side and tells him that she can finally go back to New York because Bart is no longer a problem.
After he crashes his father’s party to publicly accuse him of trying to kill him, Chuck is now wanted by the police. With Georgina’s help, he runs past Blair into the trunk of Blair’s limousine. The police investigate: Nate, Eleanor, Cyrus and Dorota are questioned, but no one knows where the couple is.
The next morning we find Blair and Chuck in bed and breakfast far from town. Jack then arrives: Chuck’s limo has been tracked. Meanwhile, Serena visits Dan and asks about himself.
At the Bed & Breakfast, Blair insists that she and Chuck did nothing wrong. Chuck is no longer sure what happened and feels guilty. Blair begs Jack to help her: the latter offers to marry her, since the wife cannot testify against her husband. Chuck is against the idea, but Blair wants to marry him: she loves him and tries to convince him. He finishes his request, she immediately accepts.

In Manhattan, Lily returns to her building, where she is greeted by William, who offers his condolences. He offers to take her upstairs and declines Ivy’s call while accompanying Lily. Meanwhile, Danny explains himself to Serena.
Nate learns that with Bart’s death, he will become the owner of Le Spectator newspaper and will be able to pay off his debts. Blair and Chuck plan to get married in a small town hall, but Chuck finally pulls it off: he knows he’s dreaming of a real marriage and it shouldn’t be.
In the lobby of the building where Lily lives, Ivy surprises her on the arm of William, who tells her that she can finally be with her true “love”, Lily. Ivy, enraged, is escorted out by security.
Danny and Serena are still discussing the past, but are interrupted by Georgina, who asks them to accompany her to a special event. Meanwhile, Jack arrives to lead Nate and Sage to the same secret event. The whole gang, including Lily, Dorota, Eleanor and Cyrus is reunited: they’re here to celebrate Blair and Chuck’s surprise wedding!
As Blair puts on her beautiful wedding dress, she tells Serena what she thinks of Dan: she will never belong in their world, a speech that Dan understands. He then decides to give his last chapter – which contains the reveal of Gossip Girl’s identity – to Nate to publish in his magazine.

Under the Angel Tunnel, in front of the Bethesda Fountain, Blair and Chuck’s wedding is celebrated by Cyrus: they have to act fast because Chuck has been spotted. The couple says yes to each other using a symbolic line (“3 words, 7 letters”). Here they got married moments before the police arrived to take them away.
The clips feature Mary Michael Bloomberg, Lola Rhodes, Vanessa Abrams, Juliet Sharp, Agnes Andrews, Kristen Bell (yes, the voice of Gossip Girl herself, who even winks at the camera) and Rachel Bilson. – Both in their roles –Everyone was surprised by the identity of the blogger that was apparently revealed. Danny’s voiceover then begins to read the last chapter he’s written, while a bunch of flashbacks flash across the screen. Turns out she was a gossip girl.

We then discover that the group is shocked by this revelation. Rufus arrives and scolds Dan because he’s the one who revealed a lot of intimate things about Jenny – including the fact that she lost her virginity to Chuck! Danny replies that Jenny has known his secret for years and asked him: he wanted to leave New York, but he didn’t have the strength.
Serena defends Dan in front of everyone, insisting that they were indeed doing what he had been reporting all these years and that he was just a messenger after all.

Chuck and Blair are back: there’s no evidence against them, so Bart’s death is ruled an accident. Blair then announces that the wedding will take place, but tells Dan that he is not invited: he knows about it and is not happy. Serena tells him that she felt the same way at first, but now she understands. Even Chuck defends him: after all, Dan stopped posting after their accident.
The group then discusses Gossip Girl and each gives their opinion on who she really was. Although everyone seems to forgive Dan, Blair berates him for spreading all these rumors about them. Danny tells her that he’s been a part of their world all along because he’s the one pulling all the strings.

Serena finally explains that it was all just a kind of “love letter” to them: Dan just wanted to be a part of their world, and it made him realize that they are his family and that he doesn’t want to. don’t go anymore Blair finally states that they can go on and grow: Danny agrees, Gossip Girl is dead anyway.
The year is 2017. Nate returns to town on a private jet owned by the Spectator. Journalists ask him about a possible campaign for the mayor of the city. It turns out that if he runs, the polls put him in first place. Thus, he will become the youngest mayor in the history of New York. He promises to answer all questions later and leaves.
Meanwhile, Dorota thanks Blair and Chuck’s son, Henry Bass, for helping her clean up the house for the upcoming party. Eleanor and Cyrus arrive and the latter compliments Chuck on the look of their new townhouse. Blair walks into the room and ends a phone call revealing that she has taken over as CEO of Waldorf Designs and is smiling at her success.

Lily comes down the stairs with Eric and tells him that she wasn’t sure this day would come. Jen is back too and she goes upstairs carrying a bag with the words “J for Waldorf” on it, hinting at a business partnership between her and Blair. Nate also arrives as Rufus greets Lily before sitting down with his new girlfriend Lisa Lobb.
Here’s a sneak peek at the cover of The Last Spectator: A movie based on the autobiography of Ivy Dickens called “Ivy League” has been announced, starring Olivia Burke and Lola Rhodes. It is also shown that Lily is back with William and Georgina is back with Jack.
VSNow it’s time Danny appears, dressed in a tuxedo: waiting for Serena at the bottom of the stairs. The latter goes down and the couple is ready to tie the knot in front of family and friends.

As we let Dan and Serena say yes to each other (without us), the camera pans to the streets of New York, where a new generation of students are heading off to high school.
“You can get rid of Dan Humphrey, but you’ll never get rid of me”: Gossip Girl’s voice is heard. “There will always be someone from the outside who wants to come in”: From behind, a young man who looks a lot like Dan is shown arriving at a trendy establishment, walking past interested students and a young blonde girl who smiles at him.
