Jumanji: The Next Level on TF1: Do you know which character from the original movie will appear in the saga reboot?

The action blockbuster, hosted by Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Danny De Vito, Jack Black and Karen Gillan, airs tonight on TF1. In this case, discover his take on the unforgettable 1995 film.

The Jumanji saga has always had surprises in store for viewers. While the original film starring the late Robin Williams celebrated its 27th anniversary this year, the 2017 reboot, titled Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, then opened a new chapter and established connections between the two. For example, the seaplane avatar played by Nick Jonas lives in a tree house. And, engraved on the bark of the trunk, we can read Alan Parrish, the name of the character played by Robin Williams, without the actor appearing on the screen.

Grossing over $962 million worldwide, the success of this reboot fueled a sequel that was released 2 years later in 2019. Winks at fans of the first watch by introducing another character from the 1995 Jumanji universe, also featured in the 1990s animated series.

Bebe Neuwirth in Jumanji (1995)

This is Aunt Nora, guardian of the children Peter and Judy, a comic character from the first film played by Bebe Neuwirth. If he is little known to us, his face is familiar: we have seen him in the sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, as well as in Madam Secretary or The Good Fight.

She was also honored for her portrayal of Velma in the 1996 Broadway version of the musical Chicago. 10 and 18 years later, she successively voiced the characters of Roxy and Mother Morton in the same production of the show!

The character nod is discreet at the beginning of the film, when the characters meet at a restaurant called Nora’s, no one knows more about it… but if it’s just a cameo, the actor’s appearance at the end of Jumanji: Next. The level of the role created 25 years ago proves that the three films are connected!
