Netflix: This animal movie will delight young and old

This animated film, currently available on Netflix, is a great feature film and is suitable for all audiences aged 6 and up.

As the beasts sayIt leads a secret life around our pets when we leave them home alone to go to work or school. We are indebted to Chris Reno, who created Despicable Me 1 and 2, as well as The Lorax, and Yarrow Cheney, who will direct the animated film The Grinch, released in 2018.

From 6 years

We follow Max and Duke, two dogs who hate each other, forced to be together after being accidentally attacked by cats and then threatened with a pound. The interest of Like Beasts is primarily based on a subtle mixture of the “beauty” of certain absolutely adorable animals and their character, and sometimes vice versa.

Then, some of the rejected animals are ready to start a revolution to get revenge on the people who domesticated them and often mistreated them. An interesting background theme and very well done throughout the film.

What will they like?

  • Well-executed, dynamic action sequences and well-felt dialogues to accompany them.
  • The beauty of landscapes and animals, amazingly animated and expressive.
  • A very strong bond between animals and their masters when they care for them. Be careful, your kids will most likely ask for a dog for their birthday!

What might be bothering them:

  • A sewer sequence, then a shallow one that is deliberately a bit disturbing. Fortunately, the rabbit’s enthusiasm and charisma make it easy for the little ones to pass.
  • Don’t be fooled by appearances. The cutest animals are not always the friendliest and can be dangerous.
  • Death, which the film directly addresses and even directly threatens one of the main characters.
