Actor Jason Statham (“Departed”) will star in the action movie “The Beekeeper”, which will be directed by David Ayer (director of the first “Suicide Squad”).
Written by Kurt Wimmer (“The Outsiders”), the film will follow a former agent of a clandestine organization known as the Beekeepers as he sets out on a journey of revenge.
The project will be produced by Bill Block (“Halloween Kills: The Terror Continues”) and will be distributed by the MGM studio, which aims to turn it into a franchise.
“Having collaborated with David on his previous films ‘Hearts of Iron’ (2014) and ‘Sabotage’ (2014), and with Jason in ‘Departed’ (2021) and ‘Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre’ (2022), I am delighted to bring this amazing team together for such an exciting project, written by the brilliant Kurt Wimmer, “Block said in an official statement.
Filming on “The Beekeeper” will start in September in the UK, but it doesn’t have a premiere date yet.
Jason Statham is involved in several projects, including the fourth film in the franchise “The Expendables” and the follow-up to “Megashark”, both of which are scheduled for the first time in 2023.
