A Better Life Preview: Episode Summary for Friday, September 2, 2022 [SPOILERS]

Luna knocks on Eric’s door, smelling gasoline coming from his room. The ex-policeman claims he spilled fuel on his shoes while filling up his car. In fact, Eric prepares a bag with a gas can, a gun, and duct tape. He gets a call from Ariane, who urges him to come and sign a statement against Mark at the police station.

Once there, Eric meets Mark, who has been transferred to Baumet. He confronts her and claims his innocence. But Eric remains helpless. Ariane does not understand that he is not a little happy, emphasizing the bad mood of his former colleague.

Eric returns to check on Martin. He whacks him in the back of the neck with a baton, then loads him into the trunk of his car. He takes him to a deserted place, ties him up, pours gasoline and takes a lighter from his pocket. When Martin confesses his crime, Eric prepares to burn him alive to get revenge on Simon…

Baptiste takes advantage of Justin being in the shower to check his cell phone. He read several messages from Olivier Jourdan. When Justin returns, he announces that he has to help his mother get out of jail the day before. Baptiste offers to accompany her, but the young woman makes excuses to avoid him.

Baptiste, convinced that his girlfriend is cheating and is the arsonist, confides in Emma. More calmly, he believes that they need real evidence. So he suggests hiding out with Jordan to make amends. On the spot, Baptiste says he appreciates his help. They then see Justin leave Jordan’s place and take his car.

They follow him on a motorcycle to a store where Justin buys abalone shells and incense—enough to perform the ritual. Emma and Baptiste continue to follow him into the woods. There, Emma wants to call the police to expose Justin. But Baptist prefers to take matters into his own hands.

She wanders into the woods behind Justin and surprises him by filming herself during the ritual. She confronts him about the lies, but doesn’t want to hear his explanation. So Justin drags him to the prosecutor. The latter reveals that he asked Justine to infiltrate Olivier Jourdan’s sect, demanding absolute secrecy from him. Baptiste realizes his mistake and apologizes…

Sylvia shows Emily the selfies Roman sent her and Vanessa. Silvia decides to call to calm down. At the same time, Silvia and Romain are having a picnic in the forest. Sylvia sends him to the mint leaves to put something in the drink, but he is interrupted by Sylvia’s calls. Roman finally answers and says everything is fine.

Later, Roman says that he has to go to the pharmacy to buy medicine. Vanessa insists she hasn’t needed it before, then admits she threw away his pills to help him detox. In shock, Romain prepares his things to leave. But Vanessa knocks him out with a kick to the neck…
