Actress Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story”) will produce and star in the romantic space comedy “Space Cadet,” produced for Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.
The plot will follow Rex (Roberts), a party girl who becomes the only hope of NASA’s space program after chance puts her on an astronaut training course.
The film will be written and directed by Liz W. Garcia (“Dry Souls”) and is being produced by Jon Berg, responsible for such hits as “Wonder Woman” (2017) and “Aquaman” (2018).
“Emma’s incredible wit and comic timing perfectly embodies the role of Rex, and Liz’s reading of this character makes the female domain of science so unique and fun, and we hope it inspires young women interested in this field. Berg said in an official statement statement. “The space race continues to intrigue us all globally, so we have no doubt that viewers around the world will connect with this incredible female narrative.”
“Space Cadet” doesn’t have a release date yet.
Emma Roberts has several projects in sight, including another romantic comedy, called “About Fate”, which will tell the story of two people who believe in love but don’t understand its true meaning. The film will be released in US theaters on September 9th.
