Interviewed at a master class at the Venice Film Festival, Bob Odenkirk (Better Caul Saul, Nobody) admitted that he wanted to make new action films.
Bob Odenkirk seems to have enjoyed the fight with the action movie Nobody, hitting our theaters in June 2021. The comedian, the hero of the TV series Better Call Saul, did say that he wanted to do more action movies.
Bob Odenkirk at a masterclass at the Venice Film Festival explains:I was very surprised that no one was there. I took on this project because I felt that the character I was creating in Better Call Saul was the kind of character you see in an action movie. He has sincere desires and is ready to sacrifice himself…
I continue to train several times a week and if I can, I will see more action. I found the action sequences very funny and close to sketch comedy… I love Jackie Chan’s early movies that contained humor. I want to do the same in the future“.
He adds with a laugh:It’s almost like people like to watch old people go crazy. Why does this seem to make sense to everyone? It is funny“.
Bob Odenkirk in Nobody
Will Bob Odenkirk be the new Liam Neeson?
The 59-year-old American actor and director seems to have taken a liking to action movies and is ready to continue on that path, like Jackie Chan, of whom he is a fan, and like Liam Neeson, who he has since 2008’s Taken. They were shot only in action films. Will Odenkirk do the same?
Bob Odenkirk trained Ilya Naishuler for two years. While promoting the film, the actor explained:
“The chances of making a movie like this in Hollywood were pretty slim, but I knew that if it got the green light, I had to be ready. I couldn’t pass up this opportunity and it was obvious that I was going too far, especially since I decided to do my own stunts!!! And when you see the actors that I have in front of me… I had to be...”
Therefore, it seems that the actor is determined to take advantage of these two years of work.

A sequel to Nobody is in the works
Bob Odenkirk is also set to reprise his role as the father and action figure in the Nobody sequel. Produced by David Leitch, to whom we owe John Wick and the recent Bullet Train, the film grossed $57 million worldwide on a $16 million budget.
While promoting Bullet Train, Leitch confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Nobody 2 will see the light of day. “The will is from Bob, the studio, the producers, Derek and us. So we are in the process of developing the projectyou.”
Meanwhile, Bob Odenkirk will soon star in Straight Man, a series about a midlife crisis in academia.
