Apple TV + has released the first photo of “Causeway,” a new film starring Jennifer Lawrence, which will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival.
The plot features Lawrence as an American military woman who suffered physical and psychological trauma while fighting in Afghanistan. Forced to go home against her will, she has a hard time adjusting.
Directed by Lila Neugebauer, who makes her film debut after signing the acclaimed comedies and episodes of “Maid” and “A Vida Sexual das Universitárias”.
The cast also includes Brian Tyree Henry (“Eternals”), Stephen McKinley Henderson (“Lady Bird”) and Jayne Houdyshell (“The Humans”).
Causeway will be Lawrence’s first screen appearance since “Don’t Look Up” (2021), which earned him more than Golden Globe and SAG Award nominations.
The film will be screened on September 10 at the Canadian festival and will premiere on November 5 in streaming.
