Chadwick Boseman wins posthumous Emmy for dubbing in “What If …?”

On Saturday night (3/9) the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded actor Chadwick Boseman an Emmy for his voice acting work on the animated series “What If …?”. The actor, who died of cancer in 2020, was the winner in the Best Voice Performance category for reprising the role of T’Challa, the Black Panther, in the Marvel animated series.

The category is not exclusive to designs, but is often dominated by them. Boseman faced F. Murray Abraham (“Moon Knight”), Julie Andrews (“Bridgerton”), Maya Rudolph (“Big Mouth”), Stanley Tucci (“Central Park”), Jeffrey Wright (“What if …? “) and Jessica Walter (” Archer “).

The dubbing in “What If …?” Was the actor’s last work and his award was part of the first part of the Creative Arts Emmy, as the more technical categories of the Emmys are called.

With the Television Academy Awards totaling 119 categories, the Emmy is divided into three evenings. The first two evenings are dedicated to technical trophies, documentaries, variety specials and reality shows and take place this weekend. The main Emmys will be awarded on September 12, during a gala ceremony in Los Angeles.
