The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power released its first two episodes last Friday on Prime Video, and in the second, the arrival of a bearded humanoid who landed in Middle-earth via a meteorite that doesn’t burn! This man utters two words during the episode, which we tried to decipher.
The most commonly accepted theory about the mysterious stranger is that it would be Gandalf. If so, Gandalf is in Tolkien’s world of Istari, he speaks of Quenia. And exactly, two words spoken by the character of the series exist in this language.
Quenya dictionary found on the site TolkiendilWe can definitely find meaning in “Úrë” and “Mana”.
this: It is the 36th letter of the Tenggwar alphabet, corresponding to W, says Appendix E of The Lord of the Rings. It also means warmth. When he finds the stranger, young Nori notes that despite the fire surrounding him, there is no heat or burning out of place. The stranger shouts this term fiercely.
Mana: It is an interrogative pronoun, meaning “what.” Note that there is a word mána (accented) which means “blessed”.
Unless the stranger is Gandalf, the words “Úrë” and “Mana” at least seem to refer to Quenia, the language spoken by the elves. His ears are not shown on the screen in any case.

For the record, an Australian actor named Stephen Urre did a role in The Two Towers and The Return of the King (playing orcs), and then an orc and a goblin in The Unexpected Journey and The Desolation of Smaug.
Who do you think this bearded character with magical powers could be and what does he mean to young Nori? On your keyboard, waiting for the next episode, Friday September 9 on Prime Video!
