Did you know that “House of the Dragon” is based on a true medieval civil war? Author George RR Martin, whose books inspired the Game of Thrones series, which was loosely based on the Wars of the Roses – dynastic struggles for the throne of England that have taken place intermittently for over thirty years, he said during a Comic-Con panel that the series that premiered on HBO and HBO Max on August 21 was also derived from the story.
