Like Rings of Power, the boys have misogynistic trolls: Erin Moriarty (Starlight) answers them.

While The Rings of Power suffered a wave of review bombing (sabotage of the work with a mass of negative ratings) and racist and misogynist criticism, another series available on Amazon Prime Video suffered violent comments about its casting.

Actress Erin Moriarty, who plays Annie as well as superhero starlight in The Boys, has been the target of criticism from misogynist trolls who hate her feminist persona. In Season 3, Starlight defended herself against the Protector’s dictatorship by going live to denounce the crimes of the character played by Anthony Starr, who unites supremacists and masculinists in the United States.

The young woman confronted her opponents His Instagram account Sharing an article titled “#IStandWithStarlight: The Betray of Erin Moriarty by The Boys’ fans,” the piece explains that the character has been heavily criticized on social media, and those who don’t differentiate between the character and the interpreter are also taking the opportunity to attack the actress.

Erin Moriarty also commented that she feels “silenced”, “dead”, “paralyzed” in the background of this situation:

“I put blood, sweat and tears into this role (again and again and again). I grew into this character (*click the word growing – as we change and grow mentally and physically).

That being said: a) thanks to @butcherscanary b) I’m heartbroken – I killed myself for this role and this kind of trolling is exactly what this role (Annie) will speak against and c) everyone goes through their own struggles; Let’s not add more.

I will never add anything on purpose, especially not publicly. It only deepened my compassion for all who come after me: I see you, I don’t hate you, I’m all compassion and forgiveness.”

Erin Moriarty’s co-stars didn’t hesitate to come out to support her, as Chace Crawford (Pisces Man) delivers a simple but effective “I love you.” For his part, Jack Quaid (Huey) defends him:

“I love you Erin. We are all here for you. You are such an amazing and talented force of nature and I feel incredibly lucky to know you. Keep shining. Leave the trolls alone. We’ve got your back.”

Finally, Antony Starr (Patron) applauds and supports his partner’s speech: “I support you and stand behind what you say 100%. Well said. Your work on the show has always been and continues to be stellar and you are as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. Keep shining.”

Let’s hope the actor has less feminine responses when season four of The Boys – hosted by Jeffrey Dean Morgan – rolls around! – will be released on the Amazon Prime Video platform.
