Every day, AlloCiné recommends watching a movie (again) on TV. Tonight: ‘Fast & Furious’ Big Arms in Brazil.
In 2013, director Justin Lin returned to work on the sixth installment of Fast & Furious. Still as explosive as ever, the iconic action franchise seems to know no bounds. The parts of bravery are legion – we especially remember the chase scene with the tank – the rhythm is in hell and the cast is always more bad ass.
While Luke Evans lends his qualities to the big bad Owen Shaw here, actor Jason Statham was approached for the role for the first time. He eventually succeeds his brother, Deckard Shaw, who was introduced at the end of the film, in the post-credits scene. A capital sequence set in Tokyo where he collides with Han Lue (Sung Kang), thus connecting Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift and the seventh part of the saga, of which he is the main antagonist this time.
In addition, a spin-off of the saga is born in 2019, featuring the characters of Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, who are forced to ally against a new threat, played by Idris Elba. Titled Fast and Furious: Hobbs and Shaw, the film is directed by former stuntman David Leitch, who is behind John Wick, Atomic Blonde and Deadpool 2.
Fast & Furious 6 By Justin Lin with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson…
tonight on TFX at 9:05 p.m.
