The director of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and ‘Coraline’ teams up with Jordan Peele in a new animated film that will premiere on Netflix this fall.
Jordan Peele’s next film after the success of ‘Nop!‘ will not be kept waiting. ‘Wendell and Wild’, the new animated film in stop motion by Henry Selick where Peele works as a producer and writer (in addition to lending his voice) will arrive on Netflix this fall ahead of the platform’s Halloween campaign.
The director of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ and ‘The Worlds of Coraline’ returns to the world of stop-motion fantasy with an animated film in which Jordan Peele will once again team up with his comic partner for many years, Keegan-Michael Key.
According to the official Netflix movie synopsis, ‘Wendell and Wild’ is an animated story about the schemers demon brothers Wendell (Keegan-Michael Key) and Wild (Peele), who enlist the help of Kat Elliot (Lyric Ross), a tough teenager with a burden of guilt, to summon them to the Land of the Living. But what Kat demands in return leads to a brilliantly bizarre and comical adventure like no otheran animated fantasy that defies the law of life and death, all told through the craftsmanship of the stop-motion“.
‘Wendell and Wild’ will be the first film directed by Selick in 13 yearssince in 2009 he gave us the wonderful adaptation of Neil Gaiman’s work ‘The Worlds of Coraline’.
In addition to Keegan and Peele‘Wendell and Wild’ also features the voices of Angela Bassett, James Hong, Tamara Smart, Natalie Martinez, Tantoo Cardinal, Igal Naor, Gary Gatewood, Gabrielle Dennis, David Harewood, Maxine Peake, Ramona Young, Sam Zelaya, Seema Virdi Y Vin Rhames.
‘Wendell and Wild’ will have its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival and Coming to Netflix on October 28just in time for Halloween.
