Warner Bros. have released new posters and the second subtitled trailer for “Black Adam”, which highlights the confrontation between the title character, played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson (“Jumanji: The Next Phase”), against the Justice Society – with the right to beating Hawkman and his dilemma between becoming a hero or “the destroyer of this world”.
The duality of the character has been extensively explored in the comics. A classic Shazam villain (since Captain Marvel), he has become an anti-hero in current DC Comics publications.
The Justice Society makes its film debut, formed by Aldis Hodge (“The Invisible Man”) as Hawkman, Quintessa Swindell (“Scrooges”) as Cyclone, Noah Centineo (“To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”) as Atom Crusher and Pierce Brosnan (“007 A New Day To Die”) as Mr. Doom.
The cast also highlights Sarah Shahi (“Sex / Life”) as Adrianna Tomaz (the civilian identity of Mighty Isis) and Viola Davis, reprising the role of Amanda Waller, the unscrupulous leader of the Suicide Squad.
The initial screenplay is by Adam Sztykiel (“Rampage: Total Destruction”), the direction is entrusted to Jaume Collet-Serra (“Sem Escalas”) and the premiere in Brazil will take place on October 20, the day before the release in the United States.
