Disney + has released the poster for “Peter & Wendy”, a live-action version (with real actors) of the Peter Pan tale, which will arrive in streaming in 2023. The image highlights Captain Hook’s ship, with the title characters fly and fight the classic villain.
The film will star Alexander Molony (“The Reluctant Landlord”) as Peter Pan and Ever Anderson (daughter of Milla Jovovich and teen version of Black Widow in the film) as Wendy. Captain Hook will be played by Jude Law (“Captain Marvel”).
Speaking at the presentation of the film at Disney’s D23 event this weekend in California, Anderson said that “it was really great to be able to play Wendy” because “Wendy and Peter are the same in this movie.” This also explains the title of the production.
The cast of the film also includes Joshua Pickering (“A Discovery of the Witches”) and newcomer Jacobi Jupe as Wendy’s younger brothers John and Michael Darling, while Yara Shahidi (star of the “Grown-ish” series) will the first to act. fairy Tinker Bell / Tinker Bell, until then always portrayed as a blonde by Disney herself.
The adaptation is in the hands of director David Lowery, who has already shot a live-action version of a classic Disney cartoon, “My Friend The Dragon” (2016).
