After Peter Morgan announced a hiatus in production of The Crown “out of respect” for the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the Netflix has formalized the suspension of registration for the same reason. The platform was shooting the sixth season of the series until then.

“As a sign of respect, today (Friday) the shooting of The crown have been suspended, “a Netflix spokesperson said in a statement to AFP.” Filming will also be suspended during Her Majesty the Queen’s funeral. “

The premiere of the fifth season is scheduled for November and should tell the facts that marked the British monarchy in the 90s, including the death of Princess Diana. Actress Imelda Staunton will play the queen.
The series has already featured three actresses playing the monarch: Claire Foy (in seasons 1 and 2), Olivia Colman (seasons 3 and 4). Currently, for the fifth and final season, Imelda Staunton will be the queen’s interpreter.
