Disney + has released a new trailer for “Andor”, its upcoming “Star Wars” series, which captures an intense atmosphere and thrilling battle scenes, as well as highlighting the protagonists of the plot.
There are three characters from “Rogue One” (2016), the best “Star Wars” film from the original trilogy, returning to the series, starting with the title character, played by Diego Luna, but also resistance leader Mon Mothma. , played by Genevive O’Reilly and the rebel Saw Gerrera, played by Forest Whitaker.
In development since 2018, “Andor” is written and produced by Tony Gilroy, one of the writers of “Rogue One”, a film that introduced the character of Cassian Andor.
The series is a prologue, which will show the beginning of the rebellion against the Empire after the collapse of the Republic in the movie “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” (2005). The title character is just one of many who question the arrogance displayed by Imperial officers as the seeds of rebellion begin to blossom.
The Rebel Alliance’s first formation is headed by Toby Haynes, who wrote the 2018 Emmy winning episode “USS Callister” of “Black Mirror”. The cast also includes Adria Arjona (“Squadra 6”), Stellan Skarsgard (Golden Globe). winner for “Chernobyl”), Kyle Soller (from “Poldark”), Denise Gough (“Colette”) and Alex Lawther (“The End of the F *** ing World”).
The premiere is scheduled for September 21, with the availability of the first three episodes.
