The film takes place in 2555. In a devastated future, the apocalypse threatens the Earth. The last hope rests on a man who can travel through time.
His mission is to return to the past and change the course of events. But the Temporal Brigade, the Time Police, hunts him down in every era. Then begins a race against time for the visitor from the future.
Le Visiteur du Futur by Francois Descrax is adapted from the web series of the same name, which he wrote and directed. It has 4 seasons and amassed 45 million views, comics, novels and even a board game.
The director recalls: “It all started in 2009, in my small student room. With my friend Florent Dorin, who plays the guest, we wanted to make a science fiction film. We loved it. We had in mind movies like Back to the Future and Terminator. , but we didn’t really have A way to implement these kinds of ideas.”
“And then we changed the restriction. We didn’t have to find ways to find the budget to make the SF we wanted, but we had to fit the SF with the budget we had. So nothing, and there we had the idea of this guy from the future arriving in the present.”
“Instantly, it’s worth a lot less. It’s the future that comes to us, not us going to the future. And then we laughed that a guy with a serious and important message took a trip to the future and found himself. Face to face with a guy like my brother.”
“Suddenly everything seemed simple, obvious. We went to Emmaus, created a character costume by collecting lots of clothes, and that’s it. Instead of shooting one episode, we shot three a day. That’s how The Visitor from the Future was born.”
