Trailer: Spielberg makes us cry with The Fabelmans, a film inspired by his childhood

The trailer for Steven Spielberg’s new film The Fabelmans has just been released. Gabrielle LaBelle, Paul Dano, Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen’s feature film recalls the director’s childhood and will be released in our theaters on January 25.

Steven Spielberg’s highly anticipated The Fabelmans premiered at the Toronto Film Festival on Saturday, and early reviews have been very positive.

Starring Gabrielle LaBelle, Paul Dano, Michelle Williams and Seth Rogen, the feature film is inspired by the filmmaker’s childhood and adolescence in Arizona. From his discovery of cinema to his first film, through family arguments, mother’s encouragement, anti-Semitic taunts and the difficult transition to adulthood, the feature film is one of the famous director’s most personal scenes.

Written by the director and his loyal collaborator Tony Kushner, The Fabelmans is a lightly fictionalized version of Spielberg’s early life, appearing on screen as Sammy Fabelman.

“It wasn’t now or never, but almost.”

It wasn’t now or never, but almost“.

The 75-year-old director then responded to rumors that The Fabelmans was his last film, saying:And it’s not because I decided to retire and this movie is my swan song. Don’t believe it!”.
