The long-awaited series “Percy Jackson and The Olympians” received a teaser with its first images revealed, during the Disney event, D23 Expo 2022.
“Percy Jackson and The Olympians” will adapt Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” book series, which had been adapted for film previously, but without much success and with only the first two books becoming films, out of a total of five.
Watch the first official teaser of “Percy Jackson and The Olympians”:
Check out the series synopsis: “The fantasy story of a 12-year-old modern demigod, Percy Jackson, who is just starting to get used to his supernatural powers when Zeus accuses him of stealing his lightning bolt. Now Percy will have to cross America to find the weapon and restore order to Olympus. “
Fans of Rick Riordan’s books will immediately be enthusiastic about the “Percy Jackson” teaser, after all the influence of the author is quite evident, with the first images of Camp Half-Blood very faithful to the descriptions of the books.
Also, Percy Jackson speaks in the teaser, warning other half-breeds – children of humans with Greek gods – to stay hidden, corresponds to the first passages of the first book of the children’s fantasy saga.
The series received the green light from Disney + to begin production in January of this year. In April it was announced that Walker Scobell would be the title character, and shortly thereafter the main trio was completed, with demigod Annabeth Chase played by Leah Sava Jeffries and satyr Grover Underwood by Aryan Simhadri. Registration started in June.
“Percy Jackson and The Olympians” does not yet have a date to arrive on Disney +, but the premiere is only expected to take place in 2024.
