Emmy Awards 2022: Succession and Ted Lasso win, Squid Game makes history

Succession, Ted Lasso, White Lotus… this year’s Emmy Awards list seemed pre-written as these three series finished as favorites in their respective categories: Best Drama Series, Best Comedy Series, Best Miniseries…

The results of this 2022 edition did not go against the predictions… though with some surprises!

Zendaya made history by becoming the youngest actress to win the Emmy for Best Actress twice. The fate worthy of her excellent performance in the Euphoria series, which did not win any other awards this year, is certainly the fault of very stiff competition.

Another historical fact came to us from the Best Actor category: for the first time, a Korean actor pocketed the statuette, as it was Lee Jung-jae, the translator of Squid Game, who was honored by the Emmy Awards last night. Series creator Hwang Dong-hyuk also picked up an Emmy for Best Direction of an Episode for a Drama Series.
