Daredevil: Charlie Cox says the new series will not be a sequel

Actor Charlie Cox has revealed that the new Disney + series, “Daredevil: Born Again”, will not be a direct sequel to Netflix’s “Daredevil”.

“I don’t think that means we’re going to tell Frank Miller’s Born Again story in the comics,” Cox said during the Marvel panel at D23. “I don’t think that means that. I think it is – you know we made the series [da Netflix], it’s over, it’s been years and we’re doing another series. It’s a perfect title. “

The subtitle of the new Daredevil series, which Cox refers to above, is “Born Again”. The actor plays the hero who is a lawyer by day and a vigilante by night, and first appeared on the Netflix series “Daredevil,” which aired for three seasons between 2015 and 2018.

Then, Cox starred in another Netflix series, “Defenders,” alongside Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, Mike Colter’s Luke Cage, and Finn Jones’s Danny Rand / Iron Fist. The entire Defenders series left the Netflix catalog and joined Disney + under the title “The Defenders Saga”.

Then, a new 18-episode series of Daredevil was announced during San Diego Comic-Con, this time produced by Marvel for Disney +, in which Charlie Cox returns as Daredevil Matt Murdock.

Cox has already made a cameo in “Spider-Man: No Coming Home” and will be in one of the next episodes of “She-Hulk”, as well as having a confirmed participation in “Echo”, a future spin-off of “Hawkeye”, which will have as protagonist Alaqua Cox.

“Daredevil: Born Again” is expected to arrive on Disney + in early 2024, as part of Phase 5 of the MCU.
