This is the first time The Crown’s debut season has made it into the Top 10.

The 1st season of The crown, released in 2016, entered Netflix’s weekly Top 10 on Tuesday 13, reflecting a renewed interest in the aftermath of Queen Elizabeth II’s death. The attraction ranked 7th among English-language series on the platform, amassing over 17.5 million hours watched.
This is the first time the first season of The crown will end up in Netflix’s Top 10, as streaming didn’t do that kind of tally when the series was released. It is worth mentioning that the weekly count started on the 5th and lasted until September 11th. However, the queen’s death occurred on the 8th, which indicates that most of these observed hours occurred within a four-day interval.
Created by Peter Morgan (writer of Queen), The crown began by showing the youth of Queen Elizabeth II (played by Claire Foy). The inaugural season followed the Queen’s life from her marriage in 1947 to 1955, including the death of King George VI, which promoted Elizabeth’s accession to the throne and ultimately led to Winston Churchill’s resignation as Prime Minister.
The cast of the season also includes Matt Smith (Doctor who), Vanessa Kirby (Pieces of a woman), Jared Harris (Mad Men) and John Lithgow (dexterity).
Subsequently, the series underwent two reboots, with complete changes to the cast. The fifth season was supposed to premiere in November, but is expected to be delayed as production of its episodes has been suspended out of respect for the queen.
Although the numbers of The crown be great, they are far from the 5th season of Snake Kai, which had over 103 million hours watched in just three days and was ranked number one. The suspense series The devil in Ohio secured 2nd place, with 70 million hours watched, more than double the 3rd place, the series Imperfectwhich has accumulated 24 million hours.
In 4th place was the reality show Dated and related with 19.8 million hours watched, closely followed by sand man, which has accumulated 19.5 million hours. 6th place went to Track partner, with 18 million hours watched. Closes the Top 10, the 4th season of Stranger things and the first seasons of echoes And manifest
