Daval Mystery: Enraged, Jonathan Daval’s mother rebels against a TF1 TV movie

On Monday, September 12, 2022, TF1 offered the public to follow the fiction Le Mystere Daval. Loosely inspired by the real facts described in the book The case of Alexia Daval – a real story By Laurent Brio and Christophe Dubois, this TV movie tells the story of the disappearance and the investigation of the murder of Alexia Daval by her husband Jonathan.

This project, on a subject that is still very current and sensitive in the mind, prompted a strong reaction from Martin Henry, the mother of the killer. In an interview with our colleagues at L’Est Républicain, he expressed his sadness and deep dissatisfaction with this piece.

It’s time for her to leave her son and their family alone, because justice has done its job. Ascent says that he was opposed to fiction: “But it’s useless, it’s in the public domain, Martin Henry regrets. We didn’t want this to happen, but we had no choice. It’s all confusing again, we don’t need it. It must be said that it hurts the families.

Jonathan Daval’s mother is clearly still in pain: “I would like to get rid of all this so that we don’t have to talk about it anymore. Anyone who commits very serious cases like Jonathan should be left alone. The more we talk about their business, the more they hurt in prison.”

Martin Henry ends by saying that the killer knows about Le Mystere Daval, but he won’t look at it. Available via Salto a few days before the broadcast on the front page (and now visible on the TF1 site in replay), this project with Liam Baty, Maud Baecker or even Michel Bernier gathered 2.7 million viewers in front of the channel.

Many Internet users on social networks also rose against the telefilm. For many, Le Mystere Daval was described as “I am ashamed“,”Disrespectful“or”disgustingTF1 has indeed been accused of wanting to get rich in the midst of a sordid affair that has destroyed several families.
