All good things come to an end. After three weeks on air, Aim for the heart concludes tonight on TF1 with its final two episodes, which will finally lift the curtain on the series’ central mystery: what happened to Julia Scola (Claire Keim) and Novak. Lisica (Lannick Gothrey), who loved each other when they were teenagers, haven’t spoken to each other in twenty years?
Created by Fanny Robert and Sophie Lebarbier, who we also profile, Heart’s Purpose combines intimate investigations into each episode, particularly exploring childhood fears and traumas and serial intrigues related to the past and relationships. A complex story of two heroes who are forced to work in one brigade – he is the captain, he has just been appointed commissar.
And while throughout the season we discovered fragments of Julia and Novak’s childhood and adolescence, before the fateful separation that changed everything, the finale, which will be broadcast tonight at 10 pm and is called “Te Survives”, will reveal the reasons that forced Novak to move. Away from the great love of his life, as soon as they graduated from B.A. Like other well-buried secrets.
However, the sixth and final episode of Aim for the heart ends on a cliffhanger, leaving the door clearly open for sequels and new investigations. But will a second season see the light of day on TF1?
When asked about the possibility of a sequel, Claire Keim recently confided in us that she was clearly ready to explore the character of Julia: “If it’s as well written as the first season, yes, of course. Even better because I think we can do better with the dialogue. But it’s definitely impossible not to want to continue when the character is so strong.”.
Contacted by TF1, we were informed that it is still too early to comment on a possible Season 2. Channel awaiting audience report for three broadcast evenings (including repeat on D+7) to decide.
On Thursday, September 1, Aim for the heart delivered a strong title, averaging 4.13 million viewers for the first two episodes of the series (with a 22.9% market share in the commercial target of female purchasing managers under 50).
However, last week the series saw its scores drop in an evening dedicated to Elizabeth II, which was scheduled to air on France 2. The two polls of the day actually averaged just 1.95 million viewers (13.2% FRDA-50).
Low audience, clearly not a series that appeals to the public, which will no doubt prompt the channel to look at the figures and ratings of the last two episodes more than ever this week.
Despite this fall in its second week, all is not lost for Aim for the heart, and the series led by Claire Keim, Lanick Guthrie, Wally Dia and Noemi Chicheportic still has a chance to experience a second season.
Especially since the desire of the channel from the beginning with this new detective series was to offer a potential recurring meeting for several seasons, like HPI and Balthazar. But also from the Research Unit and Alice Never, which has just been completed.
