Netflix has released the trailer for “Mr. Harrigan’s Phone”, which returns to bring Jaeden Martell, the lead teen actor of “It: The Thing”, into a Stephen King horror.

“Mr. Harrigan’s Phone” is the story that opens the anthology “With Blood” (If It Bleeds), published in 2010. The plot revolves around a teenager (Martell), living in a small town, who befriends a elderly, lonely billionaire named Mr. Harrigan. The two bond over their shared love of books and an iPhone, but when the old man dies, the boy discovers he can continue talking on the phone with his old friend, who was buried with him.

This happens after he left a cellphone message on the coffin, wishing his old friend was alive to advise him on how to deal with an older boy after being assaulted. The call begins a series of apparently accidental deaths of the boy’s enemies.

The adaptation is written and directed by John Lee Hancock (“The Blind Side”) and stars veteran Donald Sutherland (“Saw”) in the role of Mr. Harrigan.

The film is a co-production of Ryan Murphy (creator of “American Horror Story”) and Blumhouse (producer of “The Invisible Man” and “Get Out!”), And is scheduled for release on October 5th.
