A Better Life Ahead: Episode Summary for Monday, September 19, 2022 [SPOILERS]

At midnight, Celine goes to the Place du Mistral and paints the wall next to the bar with a blood-red pentacle. In the morning he wakes up screaming, thinking about a bad dream. As she goes to the bathroom to clean the paint stains off her hands, Dr. Livia removes the pentacle pendant she had placed under her pillow.

When they discover the symbol on the wall, Leo and Thomas are shocked. They explain to Claire that it is the signature of Dr. Livia, alias Le Corbo, a serial killer who ran rampant in the neighborhood fifteen years ago. He notably killed Thomas’ mother and Khadija, Leo’s ex-wife. The latter personally tracked down the serial killer and locked him up. After hearing about the prisoner’s breakout, Leo begins to bond…

To find out, he goes to the police station and asks Jean-Paul about it. This confirms the identity of all fugitives. Leo wants to be hired as a reservist to help the police search for them. While talking to Jean-Paul, he is disturbed by the photograph of Agathé Robin.

Police questioning at Place du Mistral. Ariane tries to calm Mirta and Thomas. Celine goes to the place and can’t believe her eyes. He says he has a headache and is going home to rest. He takes two sleeping pills to sleep. Dr. Livia approaches him and gradually hypnotizes him, telling him to take care of Vincent Chaumet the next day…

While riding his bike as a police officer, Kevin notices a car running into a stop sign. He runs after her. After a few efforts, he walks completely out of breath to the height of the car. The young driver offers her a bottle of water before giving her the papers. He admits that he is not focused on the road due to the stress of the first day of training. He manages to convince Kevin not to tell him.

Kevin then returns to the police station, where Jean-Paul entrusts him with training the young woman for two months. Kevin discovers that this is the driver he met earlier in the morning. Her name is Alexandra.

Kevin sets it up on the pending PVs. He appreciates her sense of humor and a relationship develops between them. At the end of the day, Alexandra wears civilian clothes. Kevin is impressed by her slightly weird look when she explains to him that she is going to a concert. He kisses her on the cheek before leaving.

Blanche expresses her concerns to Rochat about the selection of a replacement for the history-geography teacher. The high school principal sticks to his guns and suggests that he wait until judgment.

In turn, students make several hypotheses. They are surprised to see Leticia Belesta walk through the door of their classroom. Immediately, Betty confronts him about the maid job. Laetitia puts it in its place by recounting her professional career, in particular, earning a double degree in history and geography thanks to evening classes in addition to her professional activities.

Afterwards, Laetitia goes to see Rochat in his office to tell him that her first lesson didn’t go well and that she doesn’t feel well, especially towards the students. Nevertheless, Rochat urged him to persevere and prove himself.

Meanwhile, Blanche is getting used to having Betty in her house. Indeed, Noah agreed to return and live with his mother on the condition that his girlfriend would always be welcome there. Blanche takes the opportunity to question them about Laetitia’s skills. All agree that he is not cut out to be a teacher.
