Movie based on Sonic games brought several references to pop culture
sonic 2 arrived in Brazilian cinemas on April 7. Following the calm adaptation of the games, Sonic (Ben Schwartz) manages to settle down in Green Hills and seeks freedom to prove he’s a hero.
With a box office record among game adaptations, sonic 2 received a mixed reception from critics, but pleased the public and reached 97% of approval in the Rotten Tomatoes. Among the highlights of the film are the playful references to other elements of pop culture.
Men in Black
After the snow chase scene, Sonic copy speaks of Jay (Will Smith) in Men in Black (1997) when wearing the suit for the first time: “I make this look good” (“I make it look nice,” in free translation.) The hedgehog, in this case, was referring to his own snowboarding skills.
