Dragon House on OCS: Milly Alcock’s disappointment at not playing Rhaenyra anymore

Launching at the end of August, House of the Dragon – the prequel series to Game of Thrones – is now mid-season. In just five episodes, the drama managed to keep the audience engaged and introduced new characters that fans quickly grew attached to.

Millie Alcock, who plays Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, is one of the new icons that viewers have fallen in love with in the episodes. However, the actor’s journey in the series has already ended and he took to social networks to share his emotions.

The broadcast of episode five marks the young Australian actor’s final appearance as Rhaenyra, heir to the Iron Throne. From next week, it will be Emma D’Arcy, who will take on the role of the eldest Targaryen princess, after the series marks a ten-year time jump.

Millie Alcock has shared some behind-the-scenes pictures of the series on Instagram ahead of this fifth episode airing across the Atlantic. They include real-life moments of co-starring between him and Emily Carrey, who will also be replaced by Olivia Cooke in the next episode.

He also reveals a short video of himself laughing with Emily Carey during a failed shoot. And a whole series of photos, including Matt Smith, Millie Alcock saddled up against a blue background to shoot a dragon scene, and another hilarious Fabien Frankel in Kristen Cole armor sleeping in a chair with her mouth open.

For her big departure, she’ll have an epic finale in a wedding that turns into a fiasco, a kind of betrothal to Game of Thrones’ famous purple wedding.
