In his seventh feature, director Christian Carrion reunites Danny Boone and Line Reno for the fourth time. In the course of Une belle, the actor plays Charles, a bored taxi driver who is fighting for his life. Just as he thinks he’s starting another endless day, he meets a client like no other: 94-year-old Madeleine.
destination? retirement home. But before getting there, the traveler wants to take many detours to rediscover the streets of his past. It is on a trip to Paris that these two creatures, with everything against them, learn to discover each other and make a connection that will change their lives.
Danny Boone appears in a more sober role alongside the funny and charming Laine Reno. “This character is at the height of talent“, emphasizes the actor who shared the screen with him several times. He even offered her a role in his first play, La Maison du Bonheur, in 2006.

“This is an important film for him because it reflects his past lifehe continues. And like everything in our lives, we take detours. It’s about the initiation journey, the meeting, and everything related to the magical, and not unknowing, friendship and filial relationship we both have with Laine. That’s what Christian Carrion was able to capture.”
Most of the film takes place in a car, a setting that is not always easy to capture in cinema. The star of Bienvenue chez les Ch’tis recalls a fun shoot conducive to improvisation: “Christian kept the camera going and there were things in his life that stood out.”

At the Angoulême Francophonie Film Festival, where the film opened last August, Line Renaud moved the audience to a standing ovation:It is a very beautiful film, very sad, such is life. I’m getting to the point where I have to think the same thing, but I’ve had a good life. I have had a wonderful, extraordinary life and I will never forget it“, she said.
