The film is not a classic documentary, but focuses on a very specific period. It began in 1971 with the creation of Bowie’s alter ego, Ziggy Stardust, and continued until 1985. In January 2017, Brett Morgen suffered a heart attack. He remains in a coma for a week. This near-death experience became inseparable from his film. “With my heart attack, I never had a moment without Bowiehe says. I feel like Moonage Daydream has made me enjoy the little time I have left.”
Brett Morgen notes that without the support of his wife, this would not have been possible. “He was there to cheer me up in my darkest hours when I felt like I was aimless, out of control and unable to find my way.he continues. He reminded me that this was part of the experience, not to panic.”

The reward for all that hard work? presentation Moonage Daydream at the midnight screening of the 75th Cannes Film Festival. Brett Morgen is not going to forget his entrance into the Grand Theater Lumière, where the film was first shown. “I ended up dancing on the red carpet when I usually never dancehe recalls.
