The horror film due out in October brings a more feminine version of the Pinhead monster
The first official trailer of the film Hellraiser, which revives the classic horror franchise, was released on Tuesday 20 and proved terrifying. The film, which received little publicity, stars Jamie Clayton as the remake of the Pinhead monstrosity.
The original Hellraiser (which inspired a franchise with four films released between 1987 and 1996) was an adaptation of Clive Barker from the book gospel of bloodwhere the same author chose a male actor to play the leader of the Cenobites, the extra-dimensional demonic beings who oppose the plot.
Despite this, the description of the character in the story had more feminine traits, which makes the version of the character presented in the new film more faithful to the book.
In Hellraisera young woman struggling with addiction takes possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that her goal is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.
“It’s the story of a young woman struggling with addiction and compulsive behavior. She accidentally gets in touch with the box and, unfortunately, starts playing with it. And chaos ensues,” director David Bruckner told the magazine. Weekly entertainment.
The film will premiere on 7 October on the American platform Hulu, whose production is normally distributed in Brazil by the Star + service. But there is still no information on the arrival of the film in the country.
Actor Doug Bradley, who played the iconic Pinhead in the original films of hellish, praised Jamie Clayton’s casting as the female version of the villain. “It was already obvious to me that a female Pinhead was coming. She was an interesting casting choice,” she commented at the Silver Scream Con horror convention in Massachusetts, in a taped statement from the specialty website Bloody Disgusting.
