Alpe d’Huez 2023: who will be the president of the jury?

Karin Viard will be president of the jury for the 26th International Comedy Film Festival Alpe d’Huez, which will take place from January 16 to 22, 2023.

With Venice, Deauville and Toronto over, it’s time to head to the year-end festivals. Or even 2023. Like Alpe d’Huez, which pays tribute to comedy and will be led by Karin Viard between January 16 and 22.

“What an honor and what a pleasure to be president of the Alpe d’Huez festival jury this year”– says the actor in a press release. “An honor because the festival chooses quality, bold and original films and a joy because it all happens in a good community and in the mountains. I’m already looking forward to it!!!!”

Karin Viard replaces Michel Laroque as president of the jury, at a festival to which she is no stranger. In 2007, he received a special mention and an interpretation award for his role in Catherine Corsin’s Les Ambitieux. And he was on the jury in 2016, chaired by Kad Merad.

The rest of the jury will be announced shortly, as well as the films (short and feature films) that will make up both the competition and the preview. Then meet on January 16th to start the festivities, then on the 22nd to find out who will be the successor to the 2022 edition of Irréductible, the Grand Prix.

Karin Viard will play “Maria Reve” on September 28.
