“If you had asked me a year ago what I was going to do, I would have said, ‘No way, I’ll finish it and go.’. asked our colleagues from the magazine Entertainment Weekly At the end of the series The Walking Dead, but also on the set of the spin-off City of the Dead (formerly known as Island of the Dead), Jeffrey Dean Morgan bluntly responded, with the raw honesty that characterizes him.
Against the odds, the 56-year-old actor revealed he was unhappy with the spin-off announcement in which he will star (alongside Lauren Cohan, Maggie’s translator). The production had to keep it a secret until the final episode of The Walking Dead aired:
This is not how things should have happened. But a decision was made about it. And who knows? Maybe we couldn’t keep the secret until the end? But I think we should let it go. I would have done it differently, but in the end I am not in a position to decide.
Retired, Negan’s interpreter also revealed why he considered leaving the Walking Dead universe for good, the latter finally agreeing to appear in a spin-off, Not To Be Confused, though centered around Daryl, which is currently filming. Paris region:
“It would have been the right thing for all of us to end The Walking Dead and leave. But the story was so good and interesting that in the end I couldn’t refuse the offer. I felt empowered and wanted to continue.” he added during this interview.
As a reminder, the third part of the final season of The Walking Dead will be broadcast from October 3 on OCS Choc, and on OCS on demand platform. The Dead City spin-off currently has no French broadcaster filming.
