Warning, spoilers. It is recommended that you watch Season 2 of Destiny: The Winx Saga before continuing reading this article.
The fairies of Destiny: The Winx Saga are back for a second season, available September 16 on Netflix. In the new live-action episodes of the popular animated series, Bloom and her friends face great danger at Alfea, a fairy-tale boarding house in another world.
The Winx must uncover dark secrets and get closer to Headmistress Rosalind to learn that bloodthirsty wizards are their arch-enemies who have infiltrated the school. The threat was great, the headmaster took advantage of a special ball crucial to his position in Alfea to establish his authority and position.
Bloom and others are clearly getting on this ball. And whoever says prom, says prom clothes. But not for everyone. While Bloom, Stella, Aisha, Musa and Flora wear dresses, Terra wears a simpler outfit with jeans and sneakers.
This difference in treatment angered fans, who took to the web about it. For netizens, Tera, who is overweight, suffers from fat phobia because she is the only one who does not have a high-waisted dress for the ball.
Fans don’t understand this stylistic and scripting choice, and some even go so far as to say it’s also about homophobia. Elliott Salt’s character comes out as a lesbian to his friends in this second season and even finds a girlfriend, whom he goes on a date with at the end of the season.
Even if the sequence of this speech moved the fans, they will not forget the scene of the ball, where he collides with his friends. It’s unfair to netizens that an overweight and lesbian character isn’t exposed like this at a fancy party.

Translation: “Bloom rocks everything, but what the hell is Terra? Why can’t they dress properly?”
In the PTDR Winx series, you have a moment where they all arrive in ultra-sexy evening gowns.
And you have a TERRA that is with a basketball shirt/jeans?
Imagining fat women in the waste all the time makes me tiredβ Cap’tainePonPon (@QueenMorgane18) September 16, 2022
What pisses me off the most about Fate: The Winx Saga is how all the skinny girls get these cute outfits and cute dresses, but Terra’s outfit is just awful, not camp, but absolutely awful. Fat girl in baggy clothes” way

Translation: “The thing that pisses me off the most about Fate: The Winx saga is how all the skinny girls end up with those pretty costumes and pretty dresses, but Terra’s costumes are just awful, and not camp, but downright awful. Way to go, ‘let’s put a fat girl in a bag.’
I’m the first to support the inclusion of diversity, especially lesbian couples, which is sorely lacking in fiction, but the fact that I happened to be a lesbian is a bit of an illusion in the “too weird for guys to like” genre.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very happy for her, her coming out and all, and I’ve always liked her a lot.
But I’m tired of fat people only suffering, not being confident, etc. And finally, “Ah, I’m a lesbian.”β Vulgaris’Action is in a renaissance ππ (@MaDeviseCleuro) September 20, 2022
