“Wandinha”: Tim Burton’s series gets first date on Netflix

“The Addams Family” spin-off series “Wandinha,” directed by Tim Burton and starring Jenna Ortega, has finally won its premiere date.

Like most Netflix original series, “Wandinha” will premiere all of its episodes simultaneously on November 23rd. The date may seem random, but there is as much a reason as a pun involved in it.

It’s just that November 23 falls on Wednesday, the day of the week which means “Wednesday” when translated into English, which is also the name of Jenna Ortega’s character, known in Brazil as Wandinha. Additionally, the premiere takes place on the eve of Thanksgiving, a holiday in the United States that could benefit families who come together to watch the production.

“Wandinha” is a series directed by Tim Burton and created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, who serve as showrunners for the production. She will accompany the title character, the daughter of Gomez (Luis Guzmán) and Morticia Addams, as she tackles the hardships of high school in the corridors of Escola Never Again.

Wandinha debut

“Wandinha is currently a teenager and we have never seen her as a teenager before,” Ortega said in a statement. “Your ironic comments may not necessarily sound so charming when they come from someone who probably should know more than a 10-year-old girl. That was a balancing act. We didn’t want to make her look like an ordinary teenager, but we also didn’t want to make her too ignorant. And we’ve never seen it so much on screen, ”Ortega said.

“Every other time you’ve seen Wandinha, it was the only line, the end of a line, she always got it right, and I think that’s what people really love about her. But in this series, every scene is Wandinha. There’s an opportunity to give her a little more dimension and she becomes a little more real person, which I don’t think we’ve ever seen before. “

In addition to Jenna Ortega as Wandinha, the series will see Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán as Gomez and Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley. However, it remains a mystery who will play Uncle Fester Addams.

In August, the series won a teaser, which set the tone for the upcoming horror comedy, which will bring back the iconic characters of the Addams family. Netflix also unveiled a new video this Wednesday (21), in which it features Escola Não Mais, and a website where you can sign up for Wandinha’s school in production.

“Wandinha” will debut on Netflix on November 23rd.
