Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video for “Extraction 2” dedicated to showcasing the sequel’s intense action scenes. Revealed on Tudum, the video even shows a helicopter posing atop a moving train.
“Rescue 2” will continue the story of the first film, which ended with – spoilers! – Chris Hemsworth’s character is dead. But, as Mark Twain would say, the news of his death has been exaggerated.
To sign the script – and the explanation of the miracle – is the same screenwriter of the first film, director Joe Russo (who co-directed “Avengers: Endgame” with his brother Anthony Russo). He also produces the film together with his brother. Sam Hargrave, Russo’s assistant on the last two Avengers films, is directing, who made his debut as a solo director on the original “Extraction.”
Streaming phenomenon, the first film would be seen by 90 million subscribers in its first month on Netflix.
With no set release date, the sequel is expected in 2023.
