On September 26, the meeting of the Secret Society 1703 took place at the Moscow cinema, more precisely, the closed premiere of the series 1703 with the first two episodes shown. The project was presented to the guests by a creative team led by the leading actors – Gosha Kutsenko and Kuzma Saprykin. The premiere was attended by: Lyanka Gryu, Pavel Tabakov, Sofia Lebedeva, Ksenia Surkova and others.
The series tells the story of a young Moscow opera Vadik (Kuzma Saprykin), who dreams of becoming a stand-up comedian, who is transferred to work in St. Petersburg because his fiancee lives here. As mentors, Vadik receives Gosha Kolpakov (Gosha Kutsenko), a suicidal opera, a psychotic misanthrope who is going through the darkest moment in his life. Two partners drive around rainy St. Petersburg at night in an old Subaru and investigate the case of the disappearance of the corpses of young girls from morgues and many other strange St. Petersburg cases.
The director of the black comedy “1703” was Sergei Sentsov. Sofya Lebedeva, Pavel Tabakov, Varvara Feofanova, Andrey Fedortsov, Nikolai Fomenko, Rosa Khairullina and others also appeared in the series. By the way, an exclusive interview with Varvara Feofanova can be read at this link.

I have never filmed such an unusual and daring project,” the director said. – There are such sharp topics and such jokes on the verge that mom do not worry! Purely St. Petersburg noir, equally inspired by the modern agenda, F.M. Dostoevsky and Shane Black – his “Lethal Weapon”, “The Last Boy Scout” and “Goodfellas”. Eternal night, rain, dim light of street lamps. Two dudes in a Subaru near Bulanov are driving around St. Petersburg, looking for the corpse of a webcam model that disappeared from the morgue, and sorting out the relationship between themselves. And all this is shrouded in mysticism, urban legends and, I want to believe, very funny. And yes, “seed” is worth watching because of the unexpected acting transformations of Gosha Kutsenko, Kuzma Saprykin, Nikolai Fomenko, Pavel Tabakov, Andrey Fedortsov and everyone else. You have never seen them like this before. It remains to wait for the premiere in Okko.
The first episode “1703” was shown as part of the competition program of the first Russian festival of streaming services Originals +, where it won the main prize and was recognized as the most original series. The project was also awarded for the original music, which was worked on by Vadim Kupe (Vadim Karpenko) from the association Gazgolder and Levan Avazashvili.
