‘She-Hulk’ Episode 6 Has Secretly Introduced a New Avenger

A new team of Avengers, in fact.

Spoilers for ‘She-Hulk’ episode 6 below

Across six episodes, most of the discussion around ‘She-Hulk: Lawyer She-Hulk,’ the Marvel series available on Disney+, revolves around everyone else in Jen’s life rather than Jen herself – and that is a problem. But, even in the absence of the announced return of Daredevil this week -at least ‘She-Hulk’ has remembered ‘Eternals’ and the Celestials- and after seeing how this latest episode of ‘She-Hulk’ has presented the Great Villain of the MCU, we are here to illuminate the introduction of someone who is actually more important than you might expect.

Yeah, we’re talking about that sleazy old man called Craig Hollisalias “Mr. Immortal” (played by David Pasquesi, from ‘The Book of Boba Fett’, one of the best ‘Star Wars’ series).

While She-Hulk is at her “friend’s” wedding, the rest of the sixth episode is dedicated to a new case brought to the firm by Craig, a serial womanizer (and maniac) who has married tons of people over the years. his immortal life.

“I know this is not your typical divorce case,” Hollis says, and he’s not wrong, because at least eight of his exes are claiming compensation, and there are probably more waiting.

However, there is no time to unravel Mr. Immortal’s power as Nikki and Mallory are quick to judge the callous way their exes have been treated. Just. But Craig has none of that.

“I’m a good guy,” says Hollis. “I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings.” But it turns out that’s not exactly true, so instead of admitting what he’s done, Craig decides to jump out the window and fall a few stories to his death.

Yes, Hollis would rather die than explain his actions.. except that he can’t dieso really, this was just a quicker and more dramatic way out of the building when he could have taken the elevator.

Later, Nikki and Mallory find a story on the Internet which reports this in a rather amusing way using the title “strange rubber guy falls off building and lives”. With this and the accompanying image, you’d be forgiven for assuming out of context that this is indeed Mr. Fantastic, and not Mr. Immortal.

But no, it’s not about a member of the Fantastic Four. craig is in reality an avenger in the comicsa Great Lakes Avenger, to be exact.

Mr. Immortal debuted in issue #46 of 1989’s West Coast Avengers alongside other teammates Big Bertha and Flatman.

These Great Lakes Avengers weren’t officially Avengers, so Hawkeye and his wife at the time, Mockingbird, investigated them to make sure they weren’t damaging the team’s good name.

This new team led by Mr. Immortal, while never officially gaining Avengers status, has appeared on and off throughout Marvel comics ever since, often assisting the Avengers when needed.

However, that version of Mr. Immortal is far from the one seen in ‘She-Hulk’. The original Craig Hollis became immortal after his mother begged for the help of a cosmic entity called Deathurge to resurrect him. In the comics he is, in addition to being a kind of mutant, much younger.

It’s currently unclear if any of this will hold true in the MCU’s version of Mr. Immortal. In fact, it seems unlikely that Craig will appear again beyond this punctual gag in ‘She-Hulk’.

It would be a shame if it were true, because in reality there is a lot of potential in The Avengers of the Great Lakes, especially now that Marvel is willing to focus more on obscure characters on Disney+. Heck, even a former honorary Avenger named Moira Brandon was referenced a couple of times in Hawkeye.

However, it’s also worth noting that a more comic-true version of Mr. Immortal was about to hit the screen a few years ago, when ‘Baby Daddy’s’ Derek Theler played Craig in the now-defunct series ‘ New Warriors’.

But the way things are Mr. Immortal’s time might have already run out on screenwhich is pretty wild considering that his counterpart in the comics survives until the end of time. What if it’s one of the surprises in ‘Avengers: Kang Dynasty’?
