20th Century Studios has officially announced the film “Planet of the Apes 4”, which won its first image and its official title: “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”, which in free translation means “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes”.
The studio restarted the franchise in 2011 with Rupert Wyatt’s Planet of the Apes: Inception. Matt Reeves took over the next two sequels, with all three films focusing on Caesar (Andy Serkis).
The trilogy proved to be a huge success, with Serkis receiving acclaim for his performances, as well as praise for the motion capture work of the films. With all the success so far, Disney has decided to develop another film in the franchise, following the acquisition of 20th Century Studios.
Director Wes Ball is now in charge of this new project, which has been developed in recent years. Planet of the Apes 4 is expected to kick off a new Disney and 20th Century trilogy, which takes place in the same continuity as the recent reboot.
Although the details are kept under wraps, this new sequel is known to take place after the end of “Planet of the Apes: War” and the death of Caesar. Owen Teague will play the new leader of the apes in “Planet of the Apes 4”.
Now, in addition to revealing the title of the film, 20th Century Studios has unveiled an image, which is a piece of concept art from the futuristic film. The illustration confirms that the film will take place many years after the third film in the series in the “Planet of the Apes” timeline.
