The historical action film is inspired by a true story and stars Will Smith as a slave who, after being nearly whipped to death, escapes a Louisiana plantation and must escape cold-blooded hunters on a journey. heartbreaking north to join the Union Army during the American Civil War.

“Emancipation” is a project by acclaimed director Antoine Fuqua, and stars the likes of Ben Foster, Steven Ogg, Charmaine Bingwa, Gilbert Owuor, Mustafa Shakir, Grant Harvey, Ronnie Gene Blevins and Jayson Warner Smith, as well as Will Smith himself.
Apple won the film rights after a controversial auction, paying $ 130 million for the production, with Smith earning $ 35 million for starring in the lead role. But now, after so many obstacles, the film has a release date. Apple has revealed that “Emancipation” will hit theaters December 2, with Apple TV + streaming the following week, December 9.
