‘Werewolf by Night’: Kevin Feige says it will be key to the MCU

Marvel’s special for Halloween promised to give a lot to talk about, but according to Kevin Feige, it will also be essential for the future of the universe.

Although Marvel dominates both the current scene in theaters and series, and the huge number of products do not speak of diversity, the MCU will always have a general character and focus on the largest possible audience. For this reason, we should never take the Christmas or Halloween specials as a joke. ‘Werewolf by Night’ will be the first Marvel product destined to accompany us at the Halloween parties, and it will arrive on Disney + on October 7. A little to excuse that ‘Blade’ is still far away and that nobody wants to hear about ‘Morbius’, it will be the werewolves who will alienate the MCU with the horror genre with all its lyrics.

Although it was not the project that was raising the most noise from Marvel, one that seemed to fill a festive gap in television programming such as the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas special, Marvel boss Kevin Feige has assured that ‘Werewolf by Night’ will play a major role in the MCU.

We wanted to explore completely new characters and completely different sides of the MCU with this original, fun and terrifying project of the supernatural. We’re introducing a world that will ultimately be very important to the future of the MCU.

Feige, yes, stopped in his words after the trailer. We already know that Marvel likes to say little about their projects before the premiere. The director of the film, 52 minutes long, assured:

‘Werewolf by Night’ is a giant love letter mixed in with all these old movies, which I loved and lived through growing up. I love monster movies because they are allegories about feeling different from everyone else.

In the film, of course, there are Gael García Bernal and Laura Donnelly as protagonists. And no, they didn’t say anything bad about the project either. In Donnelly’s words:

It’s something completely new that we’ve never seen before in this universe. The scale and imagination of this project are wonderful.

The Mexican plays Jack Russell and, although we don’t know much about the plot, in the comics, the character is an ally of Frankenstein and Moon Knight against HYDRA.

‘Werewolf By Night’ premieres October 7 on Disney+marking the television grid of the month of Halloween.
