Allociné: Hortense is a character who is very popular in the society, especially with his colorful personality and facial expressions. Do you have a Cart Blanc interpretation of your character?
Ekaterine Davidzenka: Yes. I create scenes anyway.
Hortense is also entitled to some pretty funny little punchlines. Do you participate in their writing?
Writing I am not. Instead, it sometimes happens that we do small improvisations that are then maintained or not. So sometimes it comes from me, but most of the time it still comes from writing.
After the script for “Sugar Daddy”, here it all begins, the writers decided to delve into your character’s story with a whole new arc that started this week on TF1. Were you surprised when you read the script?
No surprise. Very happy, yes, because it’s a big responsibility because of the topic that concerned him. This is a rather difficult topic and which requires great sincerity as well as great contrast. This is a topic that also requires addressing public sympathy. When I read the script, I saw the work that was presented before my eyes and the trust given by the authors. I was very happy with this and the story of Hortens.
The series’ producer, Sarah Farahmand, recently said that we were going to discover the dark side of Hortens. Can you make fun of this upcoming script and tell us what awaits your character in the upcoming episodes of the series?
Throughout this Easter affair, Hortens had a sort of exaggeration. A kind of exaggeration of anger or rage. Tommy (Tom Darmon) and Kelly (Axel Dodie) eventually discover that Hortens himself is making the film. He prepares a kind of diary of modernity. He does not write, he actually makes the film himself. These are videos that are intended for him as a basic blog stay and whose disclosure is not intended at all. Except that Tommy is happy to send his videos to everyone for revenge. And it will cause a lot of trouble.
It must be said that in these videos Hortens reveals the most infamous secrets of his comrades. We can imagine that he will make many enemies in the institute …
Not so much that he spits at everyone. He just trusts. Hortense does not mean. This is not cruelty. These are questions, observations and solutions. Sometimes it’s just suffering. Because he may not be able to handle them properly, he finds a way to channel himself through this blog.
When you write in your blog that you hate your mother, it does not mean that you really hate her. It’s only at some point. It is therefore not intended for display. Simply because these are life moments and subjects that everyone can recognize. It is never evil or malicious intent. These are just questions that can sometimes be close to the truth and that can confuse some people.
When Hortens defended Amber (Claire Romain) from the tribe, it was because of his personal injury to Hughes. He saw in it Hugh a kind of ghost. He saw the past returned and the man manipulating women. This put him in doubt and in a bad situation, which forced him to side with Amber. With these videos, Tommy forces him to pay for the fact that his girlfriend left him.
It can be said that war was declared between Tom and Hortens …
Tom does not know the deeper evil that inhabits Hortens and he will try to go even further so that he will be destroyed so that he does not feel bad. Tom has no boundaries with him.
Greg (Michael Mittelstadt) and Eliot (Nicolas Anselmo) will be the first victims of this revenge. Knowing that Elliot and Hortens are very close, does this story not risk a disagreement in their friendship?
absolutely. Something will break down unfortunately. Hortens tries to explain to him that these videos were not intended, but the problem is that Elliot does not forgive him because his pair are on the rocks. He will not see the main problem of hydrangeas and will not try to delve deeper. Elliot leaves Hortens at one of the worst moments of his life.
Who will he be able to rely on in this ordeal?
He will be able to rely on Celia (Rebecca Benhamur) who, against all odds, will try to understand and support him. Actually as a friend. Notice that something is wrong, he will really support Hortens and will be very supportive. And much later, it will be Chef Guinot (Catherine Marchal).
