Allociné: You’ve been here for over a year now. How do you see the evolution of Laetitia?
Florence Cost: I think she’s a character that has developed a lot since the beginning. It was quite exciting to accompany him there. We start with a woman who lied a lot, did a lot of stupid things, had a loving but not at all peaceful relationship with her daughter. And he matured I think. Even if it retains its character and its fantasy that makes it so charming, I don’t want anyone to touch it.
He found a foothold before he was constantly moving. He also found a family with Salome (Aurélie Pons). He is building something. He was professionally promoted. This is meteoric progress. And it even developed in the relationship with love. Before it was a very blue flower and imagination. Well, it ended badly for Guillaume, but he managed to create a real relationship. It’s definitely on the way to calm down while keeping the craziness at bay.
Were you surprised that the writers put an end to the romance between Guillaume (Bruno Puzzulu) and Laetitia?
Guillaume was obviously upset and was behaving in a completely unacceptable manner. Accordingly, decisions were made. But this does not exclude the fact that it was an important relationship that took a step in Laetitia’s journey. I think it’s also preparing for him needing to be alone for a while. It’s also cool to think that it’s not always about the boys. I’m sure next time will be good. I still wish him. Her real beautiful love story is her dream so I hope she achieves it.
Is a love story with Tony (Kevin Dias) possible?
Tony, it’s a little difficult because he has a lot of love for her. He reminds her of a carefree time, but I don’t think she’s ready for a relationship with him.
Would you like the authors to explore Laetitia’s youth a little more?
We’re going to get to Kelly’s (Axel Dodier) paternity, so we’ll definitely be coming back to that because it’s going to be an essential subject. Despite Laetitia’s reluctance to bring back something painful, we have to go. Thus, this fine balance comes into play.
Can we expect this to be the next big storyline in the series?
At least for us, yes. This is a story that will unfold over time. It will not be a fortnightly ark. I can’t say everything, but a lot will happen.
Will Tony play a role in this story?
Tony, this is a challenge. Tony’s arrival in their lives will definitely raise the question of Kelly’s paternity. And having a male figure come into her life like that is a revelation for Kelly. He must know.
When can we expect this story to air?
It is inevitable.
Guillaume recently left the institute. Do you know if Bruno Puzzulu is definitely leaving the series?
I think this is a departure for a while. Many of our comrades return for the arches. Therefore, it is not excluded that he will return. I hope.
How did you react to his departure?
It’s always a bit exciting when you share so many scenes with someone. Everything starts here with a big family. Then I know that he is a person who has a lot of projects, who also likes theater very much. He will have more time to devote. Great things await them too.
Laetitia is a character who developed a lot in the Institute. Is promotion possible?
I want Laetitia to be the director of the institute. I want him to take Teissier’s place. And I told Benjamin Barochet, who doesn’t agree with me at all (laughs). But I believe!
The position of assistant director has become available. Can Leticia Guillaume take the seat?
I want it too much. In any case, he takes on more and more responsibility. After that, Laetitia was not officially promoted. But I often give the idea to the authors.
Are there actors from here that you would like to work with?
I really want to shoot with Julien Aluget, who plays the role of Zachary. We became very good friends in life. We both play in theaters, so we spend time together in Avignon. On the other hand, we are just crossing paths on set. We’re so happy to see each other outside, but we’re even more excited to see each other on set. Fingers crossed.
Can we hope to see a family scene with Salome?
He’ll be back with a plot about Kelly’s paternity. Salome returns. It’s true that we were less with Salome for a long time and it saddened us, because we like to shoot as a family. But here it comes back.
Can we expect you to sing again in the series?
I would like to. I loved singing for Valentine’s Day. I found it really neat and I think it’s totally possible.
Do you have desires or things you want to protect through your character?
The issue of forgiveness is an interesting topic for me. We started with Laetitia’s parents, but she remained tense. With father it is not fixable, but with mother it develops. We realize that when we get there, it’s very liberating, even if it’s hard to give anything when people have really hurt us. This is the last thing Laetitia lacks to completely calm her down. You’re going to have to go through it at some point.
Do you have other projects besides the series?
I play a lot in the theater. I recently starred in an adaptation of Titanic, in which I play Rose. Whenever I’m not on the set of This Is Where It All Begins, I’m in the theater. I love theater and I don’t want to choose between the two.
I’m also in a new play in Paris in a comedy called Les Muses. These are four pieces of art in a museum that wake up and talk to each other. I play Andy Warhol’s Marilyn Monroe. Very interesting and very funny. Besides being funny, it also talks about self-image, femininity and some very relevant topics. It starts on September 22 and my premiere will be on October 1. I put all my dates on my Instagram.
